Our flagship offering

Course Licensing

License fully developed, faculty-created online courses that your institution offers under its own name and branding, approves, credits and teaches to its own standards.

Your course, under your name

Your branding

Courses arrive without GOE or any other institution's branding, ready for your name, colors and templates.

Any learning platform

Every course is built to work in your learning management system, whichever one you use.

Your catalog

You set the course number, title format and credit, and list it alongside your own courses.

Credited to its author

The course author is named as the course designer, so students know who created what they are learning.

Two ways to license

License the course

Run the course with your own qualified faculty. The author can orient your instructors before the first term.

Most GOE courses are fully online and asynchronous; some include one-on-one live feedback on portfolio work.

What your institution receives

  • A complete, unbranded course package ready for your learning platform
  • A syllabus with measurable learning outcomes and an outcomes map
  • The author's credentials and a sample module to review
  • A summary of GOE's internal academic quality review
  • Updates when the course is revised

Who decides what

Your institution approves the course, assigns credit, lists it in the catalog, chooses or approves the instructor, and keeps grades and student records.

GOE supplies the course and its documentation, reviews quality before you see it, and supports setup and teaching.

GOE's quality review is an internal standard. It does not replace your academic approval or accreditation.

Created by faculty, credited to faculty

Our courses are created by working artists and scholars who keep the rights to their work. GOE licenses their courses to institutions, pays them fairly for development and teaching, and credits them on every course. Faculty work alongside our partners to help the courses they teach succeed.

Meet our faculty

Why license instead of build?

Faster

A reviewed course can be approved and offered in a term, not built over a year.

Lower risk

Start with one course for one term, with a clear decision point at the end.

New expertise

Bring in specialists your department could not hire for a single course.

Your control

Your standards, your credit, your students. Stop offering the course when it no longer fits.

Let's create what's next.

Most partnerships begin with a single course.
